Every year, 1:1000 children are born with a significant hearing impairment in Australia, this increases to 3:1000 by the time a child reaches school age.

For more than 40 years The Shepherd Centre has been teaching children who are deaf and hearing impaired to talk and enter mainstream schooling. Their pioneering approach to family centred therapy has assisted over one thousand children in NSW/ACT to enter mainstream schooling alongside their peers. The results have been phenomenal.
